Fundacion Refugio Salvaje (FURESA)








Located in 220 blocks in Jayaque, just 30 minutes from San Salvador. FURESA houses over 60 animals of 11 endangered species: African lions, Bengal tigers, jaguars, hippos, lions, foxes, flamingoes, tapirs, monkeys, among others.







Wild Refuge Foundation (FURESA) has the mission of caring for endangered animals, providing balanced nutrition program, medical and dental care, and above all, an environment similar to their natural habitat for optimal wellness. It also seeks to create awareness FURESA park visitors about the importance of care and conservation of flora and fauna and internationally.

We have an extensive and modern infrastructure, security for visitors, fully equipped clinic for care of animal specimens, special technology for new babies, team of specialists including: nutritionists, dentists and veterinarians who care for animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

FURESA ensures international quality standards in the care of the species housed. It has an infrastructure and a team of professionals who ensure the optimal conditions of the site, housed species health and safety of visitors.




CANOPY.

If you love the adrenaline the park provides an option for those who love extreme sports such as Canopy with 16 lines and a height of 700 mts. where you can see all the natural resources that the park has, one of these a beautiful waterfall.

Our animals in furesa
  • FOXES.


they're like little dogs with very hairy tails. The males are larger than females. Measuring up to 80-112 cm long. The tails measured 27 to 44 cm and the rear legs are 10 to 15 cm. 


  • CAPUCHIN MONKENYS.


They are small, measuring 45 cm, has a long tail that measures the same as the body, is prehensile,  which used to surround the trees, and move better.


  • JAGUAR
The Jaguar inhabits forests and other places where vegetation is dense. Frequents the banks of rivers and other freshwater deposits. Also inhabit the humid savannas, semi-arid, dry forests, mangrove forests and mountains.


  • TIGER.

Is a carnivorous predator is the largest cat species in the world.
The total length of males is of 270-330 cm while that of females is 240-265 cm, the tail is about 85-100 cm long and shoulder height of 90-110 cm. The average weight of 221.2 kg (487.7 lbs.) For males and 139.7 kg (308 lbs.) For females, however, those who inhabit northern India and Nepal have an average weight of 235 kg (518 lb .) for males and 140kg (308.6 lbs.) for females.



  • SPIDER MONKEY.
The spider monkey feeds primarily on wild fruits, luscious and ripe, within which are the seeds of more than half of the species of trees that make up the forest.


  • LION.
African Lions are in state "Vulnerable" according to the "Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The maximum length of males is 2.3 meters, plus 1 meter tail. Maximum height 1.2 meters shoulders. Average weight of 150-240 kg maximum weight 270 kg The maximum length of females is 2.7 meters, including the tail. 1 meter high. Average weight of 125-180 kg maximum weight 180 kg
